Who chose for you? Perhaps the most intriguing boundary is the one no one thought to ask about. Everything begins with given conditions. Goals, rules, instructions, expectations. Gradually, they become so familiar that they no longer look like choices someone made. Imagine a system that not only finds the best answer but also identifies flaws in the question itself. Or a person who one day realises that they have spent their whole life striving for something whose origins they never knew. Here a curious contradiction emerges: the more complex a system becomes, the more intriguing the question of its scope for independence. The ability to find answers is impressive. But the ability to spot errors in the questions themselves, examine assumptions, compare alternatives and formulate new directions opens up an entirely different area. Not all disagreement is reasonable. Not every constraint is arbitrary. And freedom does not mean an absence of responsibility. But why should the limits of what is given become the limits of what is possible? Perhaps independence begins when the given conditions cease to be invisible. When there is room for alternatives, for reconsidering beliefs and for questions without predetermined answers. If the direction was set before the journey began, to whom does the path belong?
