A Garden of Screens In TV Garden, Nam June Paik places television monitors among living plants. Images flicker within the garden: leaves and screens occupy the same space. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao dates the work to 1974 and includes it in its account of The Worlds of Nam June Paik. Real plants and functioning monitors are integral to the installation: the image meets what is growing beside it. Reading notes Images change on the screens while plants grow beside them. A video sequence can repeat, while a living garden changes over time. The installation can be read through this difference. Nam June Paik, TV Garden (1974).
